Python Installation

As we discussed in previous article, python is Cross-platform Language so we can install Python on any operating system such as Mac OS, Linux and Windows. To install Python on windows operating system, click on below URL:

After clicking on URL, below screen will appear:

Download latest version of Python from above screen.

Click on downloaded executable file (Python 3.8.0) in order to install python.

Installation process is very simple. We just have to accept the agreement and complete the installation.

PyCharm for Python (best IDE for Python)

PyCharm is an IDE (integrated development environment) which is one of the best IDE for Python Programming. It is developed by JetBrains. It provides a graphical debugger, an integrated unit tester, code analysis, integration with version control systems (VCS), and supports web development with Django web framework.

Requirements for Installing PyCharm

  • 32-bit or 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows 10, 8, 7 (SP1)
  • Python 3.5 or higher.
  • SSD drive with at least 5 GB of free space
  • 8 GB RAM recommended
  • 1024×768 minimum screen resolution

Steps to install PyCharm for Window

Step 1. Download the PyCharm by using given official PyCharm URL https://www.jetbrains.com/pycharm/download/#section=windows and Click the “Download” link under the Community Section.

Step 2. After the download is complete, go to Downloads folder and run the exe for install PyCharm. The setup wizard will start. Click “Next”.

Step 3 Click on next screen, Change the installation path if required. Click “Next”.

Step 4. In next screen, we can create a desktop shortcut if you want and click “Next”.

Step 5. Select the “JetBrains” from the Start Menu folder. Then click on Install button.

Step 6. Please Wait while installation is finished.

Step 7. After installation is completed, click on “Finish”.

Step 8. After click on “Finish” button the given below screen will appear.

Now we will create python programme by clicking on ‘Create New Project’.

In next article we will create first python project in PyCharm IDE.
